Depending on where you are in your career journey, HVACR training can encompass anything from youth apprenticeship programs to pre-apprentice training to post-secondary training to post-trades/upskilling. All are available through many different training providers including community service agencies, public colleges, private training providers and your local union. See the section on Career Planning for resources.
The path you chose to trade certification may vary depending on your age, previous experience, and the province/territory in which you live. See the section on Apprenticeship Paths for province/territory specifics. Connect to Training will explore at a high-level the potential paths to help you get a sense of what might be the best route for you. For example, while many HVACR skills qualify for Red Seal status (i.e. endorsements to work in multiple provinces/territories), it is best to pursue training and certification in the province you wish to work.
